Travelling by bus can be so cheap. In Grossarltal you can use the 540 and 541 bus lines for just € 1.00 per person per journey. All you need is a valid guest card or the booking confirmation from your accommodation.
In summer, the hiking taxis take you inexpensively to the best starting points for beautiful hikes in the valley of the mouintain huts. There are also trips to mountain huts. Especially for older people or families with small children, this is the best opportunity to get to know some of the rustic mountain huts in Grossarltal.
Tip: Hiking taxis are ideal for tours where you can't get back to the starting point.
For skiers, cross-country skiers and all other winter sports enthusiasts there is a free ski bus in Grossarltal. In Grossarl, the local bus service (every 15 minutes) takes you quickly and easily to the valley station of the gondola lifts. The free ski bus also runs throughout the valley - from the end of the valley in Hüttschlag to St. Johann im Pongau.
By plane
You can fly to Salzburg Airport (SZG) and from there you can either take the airport transfer, the train or a rented car to Grossarltal, approx. 70 km away.
