Grossarltal offers more than just skiing; a variety of activities await you away from the pistes as well. How about switching gears with a thrilling toboggan ride through snowy landscapes, for example? The valley actually boasts two toboggan runs, promising fun and excitement for the entire family.
A traffic-free toboggan run next to Hotel Lammwirt promises family-friendly sledding enjoyment. This natural toboggan run is about 3 km long.
Sledding experiences at Hotel Lammwirt are jam-packed with variety and as thrilling as can be. At the same time, the runs are very child- and family-friendly. Sled with caution, to ensure you can stop quickly in the event you encounter unexpected obstacles.
Starting at an elevation of 1,550 m, the route takes you through forests and across meadows, with the finish line at 1,130 m. You can hike up or ride the convenient "Lammwirt-Express" to the start. Toboggans are available for rent at Hotel Lammwirt.
Another tobogganing opportunity is from the Loosbühelalm down to the Grund parking area. Toboggans can be rented at the Loosbühelalm itself. It's a roughly 1 1/2-hour hike from the parking area up to the hut, though taxi service is also available.
The Loosbühelalm is also open in winter, inviting you to stop in for cozy refreshments, including delicious homemade specialties from their own farm.
