Rafting on wild rivers, canyoning through stunning gorges, or hang gliding and paragliding amongst the clouds – in and around Grossarltal, there's a whole world of sporting and recreational activities just waiting for you. Mountain Carting

Fun and action are guaranteed when mountain carting in Grossarltal since summer 2019. The route starts at Schialm. From there, off-road fun sports equipment takes you along exciting forest and woodland trails to the Harbachhütte.

Rafting
Rafting

Embark on the longest rafting tour in Salzburg province, on the River Salzach from Taxenbach to Schwarzach. You must be able to swim, and you will need to bring sturdy shoes. Meanwhile, the rafting team will hook you up with life jackets and helmets. These agile rafts promise both safety and great fun on the water. Just be aware, there's an eight-person limit per raft.

Summer also brings you a once-weekly chance to tackle white-water rafting with the help of a guide. It's a 12 km ride, mixing pure adventure with safety, coursing from Taxenbach to Schwarzach. The whole adventure lasts about 5 hours, including 1 ½ to 2 hours on the water.

Canyoning

Once a week in summer, you have the chance to try your hand at canyoning. Accompanied by a trained guide and snugly suited up in a warm neoprene outfit, you'll "hike" through the rocky landscape. In this case, "hiking" equates to swimming, climbing, jumping, rappelling, and sliding. Numerous leaps from varying heights await you. A willingness to jump from a height of at least 2 meters and swimming skills are required for canyoning.
