at Huts in Grossarltal
Many alpine huts offer rooms or dormitory-style accommodations where you can also experience authentic mountain life up close. You'll have the chance to observe or even assist your host hill farmers in their daily chores. In the morning, you'll be woken up by the gentle clanging of cowbells, and after a hearty hut breakfast, you'll be fully fueled for your upcoming hike.
It's worth noting that most huts provide only basic amenities. Not all of them have running water, showers, or toilets. And if you're looking for Wi-Fi or cell phone reception, you're out of luck—what you will find, though, is plenty of peace and quiet to help you unwind. So, make sure to check in advance what to expect and what you should bring along, such as a liner for the sleeping bag. You'll find more information and tips for multi-day hikes and overnight stays at alpine huts here.
Since the smaller, more rustic mountain huts often have limited beds, it's advisable to book your stay as early as possible. The easiest way to do this is by phone or email. Here you can find all the information and contact details for the huts.
